Kanteena prezsents Wave Pictures
Support from Dog Daisies
Wednesday 12th March 2025
Prolific, gritty garage folk trio building on the fiercely literate tradition of the Smiths, Billy Bragg, Billy Childish, and the Mountain Goats.
Inspired by the tongue-in-cheek confessionalism of the Smiths, solo Morrissey, and the scrappy D.I.Y. aesthetic of the C-86 school, the Wave Pictures began in 1998 in the tiny rural village of Wymeswold in northern Leicestershire, in Great Britain’s East Midlands. Heavily influenced by their parents’ classic rock record collections and John Peel’s indie-centric radio show.
Dog Daisies is a widescreen lo-fi indie-pop band based around the home-studio adventures of Lancaster songwriter, Stephen Hudson.
Inspired by midnight walks, motorways and the Lancashire coast, the band have released a flurry of remarkable records, opened for bands such as The Bug Club and Katy J Pearson and performed live in session for Marc Riley on BBC 6 Music.
Their third album Reclaim will be released later this year on Bingo Records.
